Ophthalmology - Discovering the field, Rotation, Residency, Attachment, Current Workfield
Since the 5th semester of medical studies contact with ophthalmological questions during the work on a doctoral thesis in Neonatology at Professor Pohlandt, University of Ulm. Motivated by Prof. Lang´s ophthalmological students´ course I organised ophthalmology for my last rotation in order to further discover the field (September/October1999 University-Eye Hospital Bergen, Norway).
Fascinated by the subject I chose ophthalmology to be my 16 week residency in summer 2001 during the final year of studies: Dept. of Ophthalmolgy, Armed Forces Hospital Ulm / Danube (affiliated to the University of Ulm), Head H.O.C. Gümbel, MD, Associate Professor.
